The film offers a critical commentary on capitalism, combining the narration with images of a circus. It raises questions regarding authority (who has the right to decide?) and the problem of the unlimited growth of capital. It has a playful and humorous tone but we also recognise ourselves in the trained animals we watch on the screen. The questions raised regarding private property and why it has no limits takes on a new meaning with the current financial crisis following the Covid pandemic, which showed more than anything how private property and wealth can act as protective layers against world-wide crises.
